WATERLOO REGION MUSEUM GIFT SHOP | Creating a sense of continuity

Conceived as a blank canvas to the ever-changing assortment of hand-crafted and historically-inspired gifts, this tiny 500 sq ft gift shop is a natural extension of the museum experience. With its highly visible location, and potential as a revenue generator, FIORINO DESIGN was called upon to provide retail expertise, ensuring a viable gift shop experience that would have continuity with the spirit of the museum, designed by Moriyama & Teshima Architects.

The clean, architectural concept complements the adjacent public area while providing a contemporary contrast to the products. White walls, ceiling and fixturing including sculptural display tables resting on reclaimed wood floor, allow products to stand out, while giving the space a sense of place.
