LCBO Danforth | Connecting with a Community
With limited vacancies and the need to provide an expanded product offering to the community, the LCBO participated in the redevelopment of a nearby site for a new two-storey building, in keeping with the existing streetscape. Visibility and accessibility were key to ensuring a connection with the surrounding neighbourhood.
A timeless, contemporary concept was developed to meet budgetary and environmental objectives. Materials were refined, streamlined and reduced wherever feasible. The double-volume interior with large expanses of glazing provides an abundance of natural light. Open sightlines create a pedestrian-friendly shopping experience visible from the sidewalk outside.
